iRacing BMW M2 CS Racing Cup

Four Prodigy Passes are on the line in this official iRacing BMW M2 CS Racing Cup event. The third iRacing event in Season 2, it runs from January 21 to March 3, and culminates with two Finals on March 16. Don’t miss your chance to earn an all-expenses-paid trip to Prodigy Week and a shot at becoming a paid pro driver in the real-world Prodigy Three Championship.

There are two qualifying paths to reach the Finals:

  • The top 36 point finishers with a Racing Prodigy Membership (RPM) in the iRacing Racing Prodigy BMW M2 CS Racing Cup official series will advance to the Finals hosted by Racing Prodigy.
  • The top 12 point finishers with a Racing Prodigy Membership (RPM) in the Williams Gaming Club-hosted Racing Prodigy BMW M2 CS Racing Series of Time Attacks, which runs concurrently with the official iRacing series, starting January 21, will advance to the same Finals hosted by Racing Prodigy.
  • Two Prodigy Passes will be awarded to the Finals race winners, with one pass going to the winner of each race.
  • Two additional Prodigy Passes will be awarded by the Prodigy Search Committee to standout drivers among the top 25% of the series points who submitted a video and answers to a questionnaire.
  • The BMW M2 CS Racing car is included with an iRacing membership.

Entry Requirements

To advance to the Finals from either the Williams Gaming Club or the official iRacing Racing Prodigy BMW M2 CS Racing Cup series, or to win a Prodigy Pass through the Prodigy Search program, you need a Racing Prodigy Membership (RPM) and can compete with either the PRL iRacing Game Pass or the PRL Combo Game Pass.

Stage 1 Format: Regular Season

  • There are two ways to compete (compete in one or both if desired):
    • Race in the official iRacing Racing Prodigy BMW M2 CS Racing Cup series.
      • Top 36 advance to Stage 2
    • Race in the Williams Gaming Club (WGC) iRacing Racing Prodigy BMW M2 CS Series of Time Attacks.
      • Top 12 advance to Stage 2 
  • Duration:
    • January 21 – March 3, 2025. 6 Weeks with 1 overall Drop week.
  • Race car:
    • BMW M2 CS Racing
  • Track/Week order:
    • Circuit de Lédenon (Full), Circuito de Navarra (Speed Circuit), Sebring International Raceway (International), Okayama International Circuit (Full), Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps (Grand Prix), and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca (Full). Four tracks are included with iRacing membership
  • WGC Racing Prodigy BMW M2 CS Racing Series (found in the Single Player / Time Attack section in iRacing):
    • Race as much as you like each week to put down your fastest lap. 
    • Top 100 drivers each week earn points.
  • Racing Prodigy BMW M2 CS Racing Cup series (found in the Multiplayer / Official section in iRacing):
    • 9 Weekly Race Time Slots:
      • Fridays:
        • 12:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM GMT
        • 6:00 PM ET / 11:00 PM GMT
      • Saturdays:
        • 11:00 AM ET / 4:00 PM GMT
        • 4:00 PM ET / 9:00 PM GMT
      • Sundays:
        • 7:00 AM ET / 12:00 PM GMT
        • 11:00 AM ET / 4:00 PM GMT
        • 4:00 PM ET / 9:00 PM GMT
      • Mondays:
        • 3:00 PM ET / 8:00 PM GMT
        • 6:00 PM ET / 11:00 PM GMT
    • Race Details: Qualifying + 20-minute races; 20 racers max per race (10 racers min for official race)
    • Splits determined by averaging strength of field (rather than grouping similar iRatings)
    • Series Points System: 1st through 20th earn points for each race. Your weekly best single race result is taken each week if you run 1-4 races; average of your best 2 single race results is taken if you run 5-8 races; average of your best 3 single race results is taken if you run 9 races.
    • Dynamic leaderboards are available in the Racing Prodigy Discord. 
    • $100 Advanced SimRacing Gift Cards awarded to three (3) drivers – random draw

Stage 2 Format: Finals

Top 48 leaders in points from the series (36 from the Racing Prodigy BMW M2 CS Racing Cup and 12 from the Williams Gaming Club Racing Prodigy BMW M2 CS Racing Time Attack series) advance to enter the Finals on:

Sunday, March 16 starting at 10:00 AM ET / 2:00 PM GMT
The track will be announced on the day of the event. Two track options, shared for community voting the week prior, will be selected from those used in the series.

GROUP 1:

24 drivers (made up of odd drivers from Top 48, e.g., 1, 3, 5, etc.)
Single Finals Race
Qualifying + 30-minute race
WINNER EARNS A PRODIGY PASS

GROUP 2:

24 drivers (made up of even drivers from Top 48, e.g., 2, 4, 6, etc.)
Single Finals Race
Qualifying + 30-minute race
WINNER EARNS A PRODIGY PASS

*If you purchase a Racing Prodigy Membership with the PRL iRacing Game Pass or Combo Game Pass after January 27, 2025, you will be ineligible to participate in this event but can participate in all future events during your active membership period.
